the Firm History
This law firm traces its roots in Peace River to the 1940's, when
V.R. Baldwin and Claude Campbell entered into a partnership. Mr.
Baldwin retired in 1949 and Claude Campbell practiced alone (and as
a part time Provincial Judge) until 1959, when the practice was sold
to Harry Maddison, who also practiced with Claude Campbell from 1962
to 1965.
In 1966 Richard Marceau, Q.C. (appointed a Justice of the
Queen's Court of Alberta in 1995), articled to Harry Maddison and
practiced with him until Mr. Justice Maddison was appointed a
Justice of the Supreme Court of the Yukon Territory.
In 1971 William
N. Gilbert, Q.C. (appointed Provincial Court Judge in 1991) joined
Marceau, and Guy C. Mathieu, Q.C. joined the firm in 1973. Larry P. Hryniuk, Q.C. joined the firm in 1976, Dave R. Shynkar, Q.C. became
a member in 1987, Robin D. Erickson in 1990, Robert B. Marceau
joined the firm in 1999.
G. William (Bill) Paul joined the firm in
2000 (appointed Provincial Court Judge in 2005), Colin A. Gagnon
joined the firm in 2004, Boyd E. Langford joined the firm in 2005.
Robert Mycek started articling in 2006.
The current partners of the firm are Larry P. Hryniuk,

Robert B. Marceau,
Colin A. Gagnon and
Boyd E. Langford.
Some members of the firm are bilingual.
